Compound Group were commissioned by various London Borough councils to reimagine and invigorate derelict public spaces by placemaking commercially viable, community-focused mixed-use development solutions for prominent London neighbourhoods such as Brixton, Portobello Road and Stratford’s Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

15 Revenue Streams.

Compound developed its own brief for this project as the local authorities were self admittedly existing in the realm of ‘unknown unknowns’. What was known was that multifaceted solutions were needed to appease all stakeholder groups.

We created conceptual blueprints for truly unique mixed-use destinations that fused entertainment, food, beverage, cinema, sport, business incubation space, commercial pitches, community amenities and more. The concept was underpinned by an innovative commercial framework that was highly attractive to stakeholders. Rental revenues were generated for the landlord, community amenities were provided for locals and operating space was allocated for entrepreneurs. This was all achieved whilst staying in alignment with local heritage, community concerns, and government mandates.

Ultimately we implemented and operated these frameworks across several permanent and semi-permanent marketplaces across the Capital, generating robust and diverse revenue streams from previously barren sites such as carparks, warehouses, landsites, empty retail, and similar.
